Organization honors Kansas congressman

Kansas Advocates for Better Care announced that U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore will receive the organizations Caring Award.

Moore will be the first recipient of the award, which recognizes exemplary contributions for leadership and support in providing quality care for elders and persons with disabilities who receive long-term care in Kansas. It also recognizes initiatives in developing innovative uses of existing resources, establishing new practices/procedures.

The award will be presented to Moore during a benefit event for the organization on Oct. 18 at the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence. Johnny I & the Receders, featuring Janelle Frost, will provide music at the event.
