On The Record

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. received certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. It is now the only certified cardiac rehabilitation program in Wyandotte County.

The program consists of classes on heart-related topics and exercise for four to 12 weeks.

Michele Faris-Rowe, the hospital’s Cardiology Services director, said that the certification looks at every aspect of the program and ensures that the care given will meet the national guidelines and requirements.
