The Kansas City Nursing News launched in 1993 as a product of Sun Publications. Today, the publication is mailed to 25,000 nursing professionals in 10 metro counties each week. The paper features news stories, professional announcements and continuing education listings. Nursing News partners with area hospitals and organizations, such as the Kansas State Nurses Association and the Missouri Nurses Association, to provide recognition programs that honor nurses each year. Nursing News also provides information about area career opportunities on a weekly basis. Nursing News strives to inform, connect and celebrate nurses at all levels of the profession.

Arley Hoskin joined the Kansas City Nursing News at the beginning of 2008. Hoskin previously worked at The Olathe News, where she served as education and health reporter. She started her career at The Johnson County Sun as an education reporter. Hoskin graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2005 with a degree in mass communications. She served as managing editor for the university’s newspaper, The Trailblazer.
